Look Onward

I painted this from a sunny, Spring afternoon memory in 2024. My roommate, also now my very good friend, and her dog Jack and I went on a hike in the Open Space near our home. The Open Space had been our place of refuge for the 3 years we lived there - a way to escape from daily stressors and reconnect with nature and ourselves.

I wanted to hold onto the feeling of this moment, looking out across the plains with the golden grasses blowing in the breeze, peering out over to Pike's Peak. Time slowed down. A reminder to stop and be present, and take it all in, no matter what your life circumstances are.
